NeoPUTTY in 3 Easy Steps

A simple workflow for placement, dispensing, and final coverage using NuSmile NeoPUTTY®.

1

ISOLATE / CONTROL

Isolate the treatment quadrant—preferably with a rubber dam. Remove caries and the roof of the pulp chamber. Amputate the coronal pulp using a sharp excavator or large round bur. Rinsing with sterile saline is optional.

Control hemorrhage with 1-2 minutes of pressure using dry or slightly moist cotton pellets. Do NOT use ferric sulfate or formocresol when performing an MTA pulpotomy.

2

DISPENSE

Dispense only the amount of NeoPUTTY you need, using our NeoPUTTY dispensing guide. After bleeding is controlled, place NeoPUTTY into the pulp chamber using a Woodson, condenser, or cotton pliers. A moist cotton pellet is often the easiest tool for placement, spreading and gentle condensation.

3

CROWN OR COVER

NeoPUTTY is washout-resistant and requires no additional coverage. If the tooth is already prepped for crown placement, luting cement is sufficient. If further tooth preparation is needed, cover NeoPUTTY with cavity liner, IRM®, ZOE or a resin-modified glass ionomer to prevent displacement from air/water spray.

If placing an intra-coronal restoration, cover NeoPUTTY with a light-cured material, such as NeoLINER LC or resin-modified glass ionomer, before etching, bonding and composite placement.
